Say Goodbye to Those Nagging Teeth Stains

Whether you’re preparing for a job interview or to speak before a group of people, teeth stains can leave you feeling less confident. That’s because you know that your smile imperfections will be on full display. You no longer have to live in fear of ridicule and disapproval; there is help available for you. At Ryan Dental Group, we offer professional take-home whitening kits that deliver phenomenal results. To request a visit with Dr. Michael Ryan, contact our Allen office today!

The process of remaking your appearance starts with visiting our office for a consultation. While you’re here, we’ll assess the current status of your teeth and take dental impressions. They’ll be used to craft custom-fitted trays that you’ll use to apply the whitening gel. This will ensure a safer application and effective results.

We’ll provide you with instructions on how to apply the high-powered bleaching agent, but you’ll be able to create your own daily schedule for when to wear the trays. This will eliminate the stress of having to adhere to a specific schedule. Typically, our patients see results after around 10 days of application.

Over time, your teeth can develop yellow, brown or orange discoloration from aging, drinking coffee or tea, or tobacco usage. As you’re probably already aware of, these stains can’t be tackled by simply brushing and flossing. With our professional take-home whitening kit, though, your teeth can be brightened by as much as eight shades.

However, there are some limitations to teeth whitening’s effectiveness. If your stains are the result of fluorosis, which is a condition that usually starts in childhood, then teeth whitening may not work for you. A better option may be to have porcelain veneers placed. After we assess your smile at your initial visit, we’ll let you know whether this is a route you should consider.

Once you achieve the results you’ve always wanted with teeth whitening, the last thing you want is to lose them. Thus, it’s important to practice consistent oral hygiene, which should include brushing and flossing your teeth at least two times a day to keep any new stains at bay. It’s also a good idea to limit your consumption of tea, coffee, wine, dark sodas and berries, and to avoid smoking or chewing tobacco.

A final way to protect your gorgeous new smile is to maintain regular visits to our office for cleanings and checkups. By committing to following these simple steps, you’ll be able to enjoy a happier and more confident future!
